The TaepoDong-1 is a two-stage medium range ballistic missile intended to hit targets at ranges of 2,000-to-2,500 kilometers. It uses liquid propellant and was test fired successfully over Japan in 1998 causing an international crisis and putting pressure over Washington and its allies in the area.
