Description
BTR-87 is designed by VPK with assemblies and units of BTR-82A APC. The vehicle was developed in 2015, and for the first time it was publicly demonstrated at the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2017". The specifications of the BTR-87 is full analog of the BTR-82A. The difference is in the rear doors or ramp, which simplifies the landing of troops. To enable placement of the rear exit, the vehicle layout has changed - the engine is placed in front of the hull. Vehicles' ballistic armor protects the crew against small arms and shell splinters. The BTR-87 is additionally equipped with an NBC protection system.
