Description
The M18-1 Iranian Anti-Personnel Mine is a high-explosive (HE), claymore shaped, plastic-bodied, directional, anti-personnel (AP), landmine that is designed to wound or kill by its fragmentation and is a direct copy of the America M18A1 Claymore landmine.

Design
The landmine body has a slightly convex front, a crude sight on top which is flanked by two detonator cavities and a pair of folding scissor legs riveted to the bottom.
Early copies have on the front face a representation of the Pahlavi crown worn by the Shah.
Explosive
The landmine contains 700 steel balls which are propelled by a slab of C4 plastic explosive.
Fragments
The fragments have a lethal range of 50 meters in a 60' arc from the front of the landmine.
Fuze
The landmine can also be actuated using a variety of booby-trap fuzes hooked up to the landmine with detonating cord.
