The Ka-135 is a close-range, multi-purpose unmanned rotorcraft utilizing a two co-axial main rotor design being developed by Russian Helicopters and Kamov. It is equipped with a modular payload system to conduct a wide variety of missions: environmental monitoring, aerial patrol and security, transporting cargo, ecological monitoring, meteorological tasks, providing communication in hard-to-reach areas. The unmanned rotorcraft weighs 300 kg and has maximum range of 100 kilometers carrying a 100 kg payload. Fitted with a tricycle landing gear and powered by a piston engine can develop a top speed of 170 kph. The Ka-135 unmanned helicopter was unveiled in late June 2010 at the fourth International Forum and Exhibition Unmanned Multipurpose Vehicle Systems (UVS-TECH 2010) in Zhukovsky, Russia.
