Description
The Type 701 Class (Yunsong Class) Chinese Integrated Support Vessel is actually a RO-RO ship with a springboard and a through-loading deck at the bow and tail. The nearest American counterpart is probably the 4,000 ton Logistics Support Vessels [LSVs], the US Army's largest powered watercraft. The front of the 701 has a loading and unloading ramp and a bulb nose, which is not suitable for landing operations. The nose indicates the ship is not intended to offload directly to beaches, but rather only to prepared docks.
