Description
The Raad, also known as Hatf-8, is a nuclear capable air launched cruise missile derived from the land-based Babur (Hatf-7) cruise missile. The Raad features stealth technology to avoid detection by hostile radars and a maximum range of 350 kilometers. Pakistan developed the Raad along with the Babur missile sharing technology and many components. The first test of the Raad cruise missile was carried out successfully on May 31, 2012. It is expected to become the primary cruise missile of the Pakistani Air Force to attack critical targets heavily protected in the upcoming decades. The missile can be armed with a conventional warhead as well.
