Description

The Mi-38-2 is a version special designed to meet the requirements of the Russian Aerospace Forces as replacement for the Mi-8 helicopters. A wide range of variants will be produced on the basis of the Mi-38-2 aircraft such as jamming, medevac, search-and-rescue and assault transport helicopters as well as modification designed to perform tasks for the Arctic Group of Forces. The Russian Ministry of Defense and Russian Helicopters expect to complete the specifications for the new aircraft by 2018 with the first Mi-38-2 helicopter entering into service in 2019. The Mi-38T is a military transport helicopter derived from the Mi-38 medium-lift commercial aircraft to meet the requirements of the Russian Armed Forces. In August 2017 the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) signed a contract with Russian Helicopters for the first two Mi-38T machines to be delivered before the end of 2019.
