Description

The KLC-7 Silk Road Eye is an airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft developed by the Nanjing Research Institute of Electronics Technology based on the Y-9 transport aircraft. The KLC-7 aircraft combines a mechanical scanning system with active electronically scanned arrays (AESA) to deliver a longer detection range with enhanced anti-jamming capabilities. The radar system also features the latest digital technologies, optimized algorithms and latest data processing techniques. The existence of the new KLC-7 turboprop aircraft intended for the export market was revealed in March 2019.
