Description
The Type 19 is a 155mm truck-mounted, self-propelled howitzer developed by Japan Steel Works as the replacement for the FH70 155mm howitzer. The 8x8 truck system is fitted with a 52-caliber (L52) 155mm gun with an estimated range in excess of 40 kilometers. The first production units were delivered to the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) in 2022.
