Description
The first flight of the single-seat F-15A Eagle was carried out in 1972 achieving operational capability three years later, in 1975. Some of the US Air Force F-15As were transferred to Israel and the remaining were withdrawn from active service in the early 2000s. The air defense F-15s are seen as of very limited use in an era when multi-purpose aircraft are highly available.
