Description
The 2S35-1 Soyuz-SV is a truck-mounted self-propelled howitzer combining a 8x8 truck system and the 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV howitzer’s turret. The Soyuz-SV artillery system uses the same 2S35’s 2A88 152mm gun with a maximum rate of fire of 10 rounds per minute. The system is in competition with the less performant 2S43 Malva which uses the 152mm gun and turret form the 2S19 artillery system. The new artillery might be adopted by the Russian Army in the 2025-2030 timeframe after the Koalitsiya-SV has been fielded which might happen in 2023-2024.
