The Pinzgauer II is a further evolution of Pinzgauer family all-terrain wheeled vehicles and was unveiled by BAE Systems at DSEi Exhibition September 2007 in London, UK. The next generation Pinzgauer combines mobility and increased payload, additional protection and more performance. The forward-cab design which is called 'Mantis' offers greater mine blast protection. The vehicle also will be provided with enhanced air suspension and flexible armor kit. Modular design allows for either high-volume vehicle or protected troop carrier applications or the installation of any special purpose payload/shelter. The vehicle's width and height have been modified to fit into current ergonomics standard. The Pinzgauer II will be manufactured at the BAE Systems sites in Guildford, Surrey and Fareham, Hampshire.
