Description

The Nour, 'Lihgt' in English, is a long-range surface-to-surface missile developed by the Islamic Republic of Iran under its domestic weapons program started in 1992 as a response to the United States arms embargo. The Nour is launched from ground-based platforms and features a range of 200 kilometers. This missile could be used to hit shore targets in neighbors countries of Iran. The Nour missile first launch was reported in January 2012 during a maneuvers carried out by the Navy of Iran in the area of the strait of Hormuz.
