48Ya6-K1 “Podlet K1”

The 48Ya6-K1 “Podlet K1” (Cyrillic: 48Я6-К1 «Подлет-К1»; translated: “Approach”) is a mobile, S-band, three-coordinate air defense radar designed for inter-service application. It operates in a circular scan combat mode, utilizing a large upper phased array antenna for detecting and tracking low-altitude targets. The system also incorporates two back-to-back secondary radar arrays: a thinner one for the international standard (SIF Mark XII) and a larger one for the national Russian Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system. A narrow compensation antenna, positioned next to the main array, provides protection against jamming.
