Description
The Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS) is a United States Missile Defense Agency (MDA) program aimed at delivering a space-based sensor system against advanced missiles. The HBTSS constellation program is envisaged to detect and track hypersonic cruise missiles and other advanced ballistic missiles. The MDA has awarded contracts to several industry teams to demonstrate the technologies and feasibility of such constellation with a major decision on this program expected by late 2020 or early 2021.
