Description
The Evolved Strategic SATCOM (ESS) is a United States Space Force (USSF) program at delivering a new secure and resilient communications satellite constellation in the late 2020s. The USSF expects to award a contract for the new military satellite by 2025. The USSF Evolved Strategic Satellite (ESS) Communications is a new constellation consisting on four spacecraft to be placed into orbit by 2033. Boeing was awarded a $2.8 billion contract to build the new constellation on July 3, 2025.
