Description
The Thales DBRI 23 is an L-band 3D naval radar system designed for air and surface surveillance and target designation, specifically developed for the French Masurca surface-to-air missile system. Its transmitter utilizes a carcinotron with an output power of several megawatts, and the antenna, protected by a large radome, generates an inverse cosecant squared pattern through an array of feed horns. Elevation angle information is derived using stacked beam techniques. This radar is installed on the French Navy’s air defense destroyers, D 602 FS Suffren and D 603 FS Duquesne.
