Description

The B-12 Kurganets-25 Armored Recovery Vehicle (ARV) is intended to recover and repair Kurganets and Boomerang medium-weight armored vehicles damaged in the battlefield. The vehicle is fitted with an improved crane and winch as well as a 12.7mm machine gun for self-defense purposes. To avoid enemy fire this new ARV is able to connect tow ropes to an incapacitated military vehicle remotely with the crew protected under armor. SKBM is responsible for the development of this new variant of the Kurganets vehicle family. The Russian Army was testing the Kurganets-based ARV in September 2016.
