Description
The Argus is a naval navigation radar system manufactured by Simrad Yachting, operating in the S-band with a peak power of 30 kW. It employs a multi-radar configuration to minimize blind zones, typically featuring a long-range S-band unit mounted high on the mast, complemented by shorter-range units at the bow and stern. These additional units can be either pulsed Halo radars or Simrad 4G broadband radars (FMCW). The system offers pulse repetition frequencies of 0.75, 1.5, or 3 kHz, pulsewidths of 0.06, 0.25, or 0.8 µs, and an instrumented range of 40 nautical miles (74 km), with a beamwidth of 1.9° and an antenna rotation speed of 20 revolutions per minute.
