Description

The Lockheed Martin Shadow Hawk is a lightweight, compact precision-guided munition designed to be released from unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) such as the Shadow 200 air vehicle. This munition utilizes a semi-active laser seeker to achieve better than one meter precision. This weapon also provides off-axis capability, enabling engagement of designated targets off the aircraft’s wing. All in, the Shadow Hawk has been optimized for military operations in urban terrain where low collateral damage is paramount. The weapon is also intended to engage time-sensitive threats providing quick strike capability. This munition is fitted with an effective and lethal anti-personnel warhead. A Shadow 200 UAS carried out the first test launch of the Shadow Hawk drop-glide weapon on May 1, 2012.
