Hrim-2
Hrim-2
The Hrim-2, also known as Grom 2, is a tactical ballistic missile with an estimated maximum range of 500 kilometers. The development of the new weapon started in the early 2000s and was completed around 2020. The single-stage, solid-propellant missile maximum speed must be close to Mach 4-5, carries a 500-kilogram warhead and can hit targets at distances between 50 and 500 kilometers. Two Hrim-2 missiles are carried by a 10-wheel vehicle acting as tractor-erector-launcher platform. The missile was intended as replacement for the aging Soviet Tochka-U tactical ballistic missiles owned by Ukraine. In March 2023, Ukraine fired a Hrim-2 missile that was intercepted by a Russian Tor-M2 missile system making this event the first known attack operation and interception of this missile type.
