Description

The Russian Aerospace Defense Forces Razdan is a new constellation of Earth surveillance satellites being developed as the replacement for the Persona constellation. Three new satellites will form the constellation and will be placed into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) between 2019 and 2024 from Plesetsk cosmodrome. The new satellites will feature a high-speed, secure, radio frequency communications system as well as a 2-meter diameter lens intended to deliver very high resolution imagery well above 36 megapixels. The satellites will provide real-time operational monitoring in combat situations even in the presence of adverse weather and obscurants. The Razdan constellation is being developed by TsSKB Progress.
