Description

The Thales Coast Watcher 100 is an X-band naval radar system designed for long-range air and surface coastal surveillance. It is optimized for security missions such as anti-piracy, counter-terrorism, and monitoring illegal activities like immigration, fishing, and trafficking, as well as detecting asset intrusion. The radar provides excellent detection of small air and surface targets, even in harsh environments, utilizing a range resolution of 4 meters for target classification. Featuring a solid-state transmitter and reconfigurable processing, it boasts an operational availability requiring only one preventive maintenance per year, with a mean time between critical failures (MTBCF) of one year. The system uses a Gregorian antenna with carbon fiber reinforced plastic parabolic reflectors, capable of radiating an inverse cosecant squared pattern when the feed horn is positioned at the top of the reflector. A military version with electronic counter-countermeasures (ECCM) is also available, and the system has been delivered to countries including Mexico and Vietnam.
