Description

The Luchs 2 is an armored reconnaissance vehicle developed by General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) to meet the requirements of the German Army. The Luchs 2 amphibious armored vehicle is based upon the latest version of the Piranha 6x6 wheeled armored vehicle. GDELS was awarded a 3 billion Euro contract for the development and delivery of 274 Luchs 2 to the German Army in October 2025. The new armored vehicle should enter service in the 2028-2030 timeframe replacing the older Fennek 4x4 armored reconnaissance vehicles.
