Description

The Geran-2 is a piston-powered, strategic range, stealth strike drone designed to hit targets at distances of up to 1,500 kilometers. The Geran-2 carries a warhead of 40 kilograms and is launched from ground platforms using catapults flying at low altitudes to evade detection by air defense radars. The Geran-2 drones are launched in swarm to maximize the probability of success against strategic infrastructures. The Russian Armed Forces introduced in the Geran-2 strike drone in the Special Military Operation in Ukraine in 2024 as a further development of the Iranian Shahed/Geran strike drone.
