Description
The Project 20180 is a new class of multipurpose vessels designed to serve as tugboat, resupply at sea ship or search vessel in support of the Russian Navy’s surface fleet. These ships can operate in ice conditions in the Arctic. The propulsion system comprises two 3,300-hp electric motors and six diesel generations providing 8,880 KW allowing a top speed of 14 knots. The vessels were designed by the Almaz Design Bureau and built by the Zvezdochka shipyard in Severodvinsk.
