Aleksandar

The Aleksandar Serbian 155mm Self-Propelled Howitzer is a cutting-edge artillery weapon developed by the Serbian defense industry. It is the most powerful fully automated fire support artillery piece in the 155 mm caliber, featuring a high level of autonomy. This weapon is built by integrating a 155 mm artillery module onto an 8x8 chassis. The weapon module is operated from the vehicle cabin and can be classified as a remote-controlled weapon station (RCWS) due to its advanced features. The weapon module consists of an autofretted 155 mm barrel assembly that complies with Joint Ballistic Method of Operations (JBMOU) standards and includes a 23-liter chamber. A key feature of the weapon module is its fully automatic loader, which can accommodate 12 projectiles and propellant charges. This loader allows for firing at all elevations, achieving a rate of fire of up to 6 rounds per minute. Additionally, the platform has space for another 12 rounds, enabling automatic reloading. This design allows the combat set to hold a total of 24 rounds without any crew engagement being necessary during operation.
