Description
The Lyra 50 is an X-band naval radar system designed for Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) and coastline surveillance. It operates as a fully coherent pulsed radar, utilizing digital pulse compression. The system features a slotted waveguide antenna that produces a fan beam pattern, with a narrow beamwidth of 0.45 degrees and an antenna rotation speed of 11 or 22 revolutions per minute. It has an instrumented range of 48 km, a range resolution of 9 meters, and an average power of 5 W, with pulsewidths ranging from 0.1 µs to 60 µs. The Lyra 50 is capable of operation from ground or sea level up to an altitude of 4,500 meters.
