Project 1155
Project 1155

The Project 1155 Udaloy I class destroyers were designed to overcome the shortfalls detected on Krivak-series of anti-submarine frigates which entered service in the 1970s within the Soviet Navy. Their weapon system consists of eight SS-N-14 anti-submarine/ship missiles, eight Klinok Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) systems with eight 9M331 missiles, two quadruple 533mm torpedo tubes, two RBU-6000 anti-submarine rocket systems, two 100mm single-barrel AK-100 multifunction gun and four 30mm AK-630 close-in weapons provided for ship's self-defense against surface and airborne threats. The Soviet Navy commissioned 12 Udaloy I class destroyers between 1980 and 1991. As of February 2018 only seven destroyers remain in active duty with the Russian Navy. One Udaloy I destroyer was upgraded to the Udaloy II standard and returned to active duty in 2013.
