Description
CAESAR (Captor Active Electronically Scanned Array Radar) is an X-band multi-functional airborne radar, developed by a four-nation consortium as a variant of the CAPTOR radar system for the Eurofighter. Its active phased array antenna consists of 1,424 SMTR modules, also utilized in the TerraSAR-X satellite, the BÜR battlefield ground surveillance radar, and the MEADS missile control radar. A prototype of CAESAR was built for demonstration purposes and served as the predecessor to the E-Captor radar.
