Description

No-Dong, also known as Ro-Dong, is a further development of Scud tactical ballistic missile carried out by North Korea. Single stage No Dong features a 1,500 kilometers maximum range enough to strike sites in Japan and Taiwan. It can be launched using either Transporter-Erector-Launcher (TEL) vehicles and underground silos. North Korea has transferred technology and know-how associated with No-Dong program to Pakistan and Iran for their indigenous ballistic missile programs. No-Dong can be armed with nuclear, chemical or conventional warheads. The US intelligence community has reported that North Korea has deployed a significant number of such missiles. However the status of No-Dong program and missile holdings remain uncertain.
