Description
The AN/TPX-41 is a Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) interrogator set designed to provide aircraft identification information to an air traffic control center. Operating in the L-band at frequencies of 1030 and 1090 MHz with a peak power of 1.5 kW and an instrumented range of 200 miles (320 km), it functions as a complete aircraft identification system. It incorporates both Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) capabilities to distinguish between friendly and unfriendly aircraft, and Selective Identification Features (SIF) for the selective identification of specific friendly aircraft.
