Description

The CIRIT is a 70mm semi-active laser guided rocket intended as a low-cost, highly accurate and effective solution against light armored vehicles and ground targets at ranges between 1,500 and 8,000 meters. It is fully compatible with LAU and M launchers commonly used by Western aircraft and the MIL-STD-1760 interface standard. Roketsan is developing the CIRIT rocket to arm the T-129 ATAK, AH-1P and AH1-W attack helicopters used by the Armed Forces of Turkey. The rocket is fitted with an insensitive motor and a tri-mode insensitive warhead. The warhead can take out armored targets, personnel or can provide incendiary effects. CIRIT's mid-course guidance is carried out by an inertial measurement unit plus magnetometer with the semi-active laser seeker taking care of the terminal guidance.
