Description
The Republic of Korea (RoK) Kompsat-6 (K6) is a radar-based Earth Observation Satellite developed by Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). The K6 will be placed into orbit in 2019. In February 26, 2014, Airbus Defence and Space and LIG Nex1 signed a contract for the delivery of the radar antenna and electronics for the new spacecraft. The K6 Phased Array SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) technology will operate in various modes SpotLight, StripMap and ScanSAR with two polarizations and a resolution below 1 meter.
