Description
The Tu-214SR Doomsday Plane is a Russian Federation special purpose aircraft designed to perform as flying command center in the event of a major conflict. It is a derivative of the Tu-214 jetliner. Six Tu-214SR special purpose aircraft were ordered by the Administration of the Russian president in 2005. The first two Tu-214SR aircraft were delivered in June 2009 and the remaining were scheduled for delivery in 2010 and 2011.
