Description

The Standard SM-6 Block IU is a new variant of the Block I missile featuring a common guidance section also employed by the Standard SM-2 Block IIICU. The US Navy ordered the development of the two missile variants in April 2024 through a $344 million contract awarded to Raytheon. This new variant is intended to speed up delivery to the US Navy and allied customers.
