The K7 will be placed into orbit in 2021 and expected to serve for at least five years. The spacecraft will operate in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to meet the RoK national needs which may have both civilian and military applications. The Advanced Earth Imaging Sensor System - High Resolution (AEISS-HR) optical instrument will feature a maximum resolution of 0.3 meters. An X-band system will be in charge of transmitting the high resolution imagery back to ground stations through a high speed data downlink.
