Description
The AWS-10 is a lightweight, medium-range, 2D S-band radar system designed for air and surface surveillance on various naval and coast guard vessels. It features a mechanically stabilized turning unit and offers two antenna options: a slotted waveguide for a fan beam or a modified double-curved parabolic reflector for a cosecant-squared pattern. With a peak power of either 2 kW or 15 kW, it provides an instrumented range of 100 nautical miles (185 km) and an angular accuracy of 0.35 degrees. The AWS-10 is currently operational on the Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship Argus (A135).
