Description

The SCR-695, known as ABF in the U.S. Navy, was an airborne Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Mark III transponder manufactured by Hazeltine. Operating in the VHF band (157-187 MHz) with a peak power of 3 W and an instrumented range of 90 nautical miles (160 km), it was later designated AN/APX-04 under the U.S. Joint Electronics Type Designation System (JETDS). This secondary surveillance radar served as the predecessor to the AN/APX-44.
