The Skylark III, also known as Skylark 3, is a tactical unmanned air vehicle (UAV) designed to provide battlefield intelligence and target information to artillery units of the Israeli Armed Forces. This drone is equipped with advanced photographic equipment to conduct reconnaissance and intelligence missions in combat zones. The Skylark III is able to stay airborne for six hours and travel a distance of up to 100 kilometers. Besides, the new drone uses a parachute landing system to avoid harm during recovery operations. The Skylark III started flight trials on behalf of the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) in April 2017 with the system expected to enter into service within 2018.
