Description
The US Air Force Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) is intended to supplement the Next-Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) and the F-35 aircraft. The US Air Force program calls for the procurement of 1,000 CCA drones beginning in the late 2020s or early 2030s. Both NGAD (200) and F-35 (300) platforms will be operating along two CCA drones. The CCA should achieve initial operational capability (IOC) along the NGAD in the 2030-2040 timeframe. In 2025, the General Atomics YFQ-42 and Anduril FYQ-44 are competing for the CCA program.
