Description

The Squire is a man-portable, medium-range ground surveillance radar operating in the X-band, designed to detect and classify moving targets on or near the ground at instrumented ranges up to 48 km. With a range resolution of 5 meters and accuracy of 5 meters or 5 mils, it is deployed globally for force protection, reconnaissance, and compound security, as well as border, coastal, and site surveillance, counter-drug operations, anti-smuggling, and drone detection. Its light and compact design, utilizing Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) technology, allows for a very low maximum output power of 1 W, ensuring safety from RF radiation even in close proximity. The system's components are distributed across two backpacks, each weighing less than 23 kg including batteries, making it easily transportable by two individuals for use by army, marine, air-mobile, amphibious, United Nations, and border guard units.
