FL-3000N
The Flying Leopard 3000 Naval (FL-3000N), also known as the HongQi-10 or HQ-10, is a short-range ship-based air defense missile system derived from the People's Liberation Army (PLA) TY-90 air-to-air missile. The FL-3000N consists of an eight-cell missile launcher similar to the US Navy's Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) missile system. The purpose of this air defense missile is to take out incoming threats such as anti-ship missiles, rotary- and fixed-wing aircraft. For that purpose several missiles can be fired near simultaneously at the same target at ranges between 500-to-6000 meters. The FL-3000N missile flies at twice the speed of sound maneuvering at 20 times Earth's gravity (g) to successfully intercept its intended target. The FL-3000N entered service with the PLA Navy around 2013 onboard the Type 056 class corvettes. The same missile system has been provided to Type 052D class destroyers and Type 054B class frigates. The projected Type 055 class destroyers/cruisers will be equipped with the FL-3000N short-range air defense system.
