The Warrior vehicle has a heavy armor which provides protection against ballistic threats, a 30mm L21 cannon and a coaxial 7.62mm machine gun to provide fire support to dismounted troops and self-protection against other armored vehicles. The Warrior was successfully combat-proven during the Gulf War in 1991. Afterward, it was deployed in the former Yugoslavia and most recently in Iraq during operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 (Operation Telic). The Warrior armored vehicle is powered by a single Rolls Royce CV8 diesel engine. There are seven Warrior variants, for example: Milan anti-tank missile carrier, recovery vehicle, engineer combat vehicle and artillery command vehicle. The Desert Warrior is an special derivative of the Warrior vehicle supplied to Kuwait. The Last variant of the Warrior is the Warrior 2000, which is able to accommodate a 120mm main gun.
