Description

The KAB-1500LG-OD-E as part of the KAB-1500L bomb family, also referred to as KAB-1500LG-E, is a 1,500 kg, laser-guided bomb designed to hit stationary ground and surface targets such as railway, highway bridges, facilities, ships and strongholds. This bomb is carried by the Su-24M, Su-34, Su-35 and Mig-35 aircraft. The KAB-1500L is the Russian counterpart to United States Paveway II/III laser-guided bombs. The bomb is equipped with a laser air-stabilized homing head. Once released, the pilot or a third party must aim at the target with a laser designator in order to successfully direct the KAB bomb. The KAB-1500LG-OD-E features an impact fuze and a fuel air explosive (FAE) warhead.
