Ka-32A11BC
The Ka-32 is a civilian version of the Ka-27 ASW helicopter. The Ka-32T is a cargo helicopter and Ka-32C is a search and rescue (SAR) and medical evacuation (medevac) helicopter. The Ka-32A11BC multirole helicopter equipped with the latest avionics is the current production standard and is suitable to carry out special search and rescue operations, building tall structures, transporting cargo internally and on an external sling, logging, medevac and complex fire-fighting missions, as well as on patrol and to support during law enforcement operations. The coaxial rotor design makes its compact, high power and high maneuverable while featuring low operating costs and a service life of 32,000 flight hours. Operated by a single pilot in dense populated urban areas, mountainous terrain and forested regions is able to land on small vessels, drilling platforms, and on un-prepared, hard to access sites. The Ka-32A11BC meets FAR-29, AP-29 requirements, and is EASA certified. The Ka-32 helicopter was sold to South Korea for Forest Aviation and Maritime Patrol missions. As of 2003, approximately 40 Ka-32s were in service in South Korea with seven additional Ka-32s equipped with IAI's avionics package scheduled for delivery between 2004 and 2005. These aircraft were ordered by the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) for search and rescue purposes. The Ka-32s equipped with IAI-designed avionics package feature an advanced day/night all-weather navigation system, weather and ground survey radar, and a moving digital map. A central computer and management software integrate all aircraft's systems. Color displays for improved man-machine interface are also provided. Future growth can be accomplished thanks to its open architecture.
