Description

The ASTROS II (Artillery SaTuration ROcket System) is a Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) designed to engage ground targets at ranges between 30 to 300 kilometers. Its modular design allows to fire a variety of rockets and tactical missiles with calibers ranging from 127mm to 300mm. The 70mm Skyfire-70 rocket is available for training purposes. The ASTROS artillery system has been developed on the basis of all-terrain, high-mobility wheeled chassis for enhanced mobility. The basic rocket artillery system introduced in the early 1980s was designed to fire SS-30, SS-40, SS-60 and SS-80 rockets. The extended range SS-150 can engage targets at 150 kilometers while the FOG-MPM offers high accuracy against armored vehicles, helicopters and fortifications. The Astros TM/AV-MT tactical missile can engage targets at ranges of 300 kilometers.
