AN/APG-68
The AN/APG-68 is an X-band pulse-Doppler airborne radar system manufactured by Northrop Grumman in the United States, designed for fighter aircraft such as the F-16 C/D. It weighs less than 164 kg (362 pounds), occupies less than 0.13 cubic meters (4.6 cubic feet), and requires 5.6 kilowatts of input power. Evolving from the AN/APG-66, it features increased range, more operational modes, and improved resolution, utilizing a mechanically steered beam with a search capability of 120 degrees in both azimuth and elevation. The radar has an instrumented range of 50 to 85 km, with a stated range of 65 km (35 NM) in "look-up" mode and 50 km (27.5 NM) in "look-down" mode, while the AN/APG-68(V)9 variant offers a 30% greater air-to-air detection range (85 km) and includes a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) mode for high-resolution mapping, target detection, and recognition.
