Description
The F-35E is a new enhanced variant of the F-35A aircraft featuring a new engine that may enable supercruise speed (supersonic without using afterburne). The F-35E should be provided with other improvements related to the radar, weapons package, performance and stealth coating at some point in the 2030s. In early 2023, the plans for a new engine for the F-35 aircraft were dropped. Instead the F-35 will get a new core for the F135 engine.
