Description
The Brave Eagle is an advanced trainer jet developed by Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) to meet the requirements of the Taiwanese Air Force. The aircraft will feature domestically designed and produced components to avoid pressure from mainland China. The twin-engine, twin-set Brave Eagle jet basic design resembles the Ching-Kuo domestically produced fighter jet. Taiwan unveiled the Brave Eagle prototype in September 2019 with the first flight expected in the summer of 2020. The new aircraft program aim is to replace the F-5E/F fighters and AT-2 trainers in the 2020s with a first batch of 66 jets to be delivered by 2026.
